6 p.m. OPEN SUKKAH
Families of all faiths are invited to First Hebrew to experience “Sukkot,” the Jewish Fall Harvest Festival, where meals are traditionally taken in outdoor tents or a booth known as a “sukkah.” Sukkot takes you outside to appreciate nature and the bounty of God.
First Hebrew’s backyard sukkah featuring a free dessert reception will be held on Saturday, October 19 from 6 – 7 p.m. Dress for outdoors; in case of rain we will move indoors.
10 a.m. ALTERNATIVE SERVICE
The Alternative Shabbat service includes some basic meditation techniques and gentle yoga postures. Our goal is to help you find your own connections to the liturgy beyond the words on the page. through your heart, your mind, body and spirit. This two hour service will be followed by a kiddush.
